BIOGRAPHY

Michael was born in Kapunda, South Australia, in 1961. He studied at the Alexander Mackie CAE, which became the City Art Institute in 1982, completing a B.A. (Visual Arts) in 1982 and a Graduate Diploma (Professional Art Studies) from the same institution in 1983. In 1987 he completed a Dip Ed (Tech.) at Sydney CAE. In 1996 he graduated from the Master of Fine Art course at the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW, achieving First Class Honours.

Michael has been working since 1983, with 20 one-person exhibitions and numerous group shows internationally and throughout Australia. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, The Art Gallery of NSW, The Art Gallery of South Australia, The Queensland Art Gallery and in many regional, university and corporate collections. Michael is currently a Senior Lecturer and Co-ordinator of Printmaking Studies at COFA, University of NSW and is Director of Cicada Press, UNSW.
